Overbooking and Non-Guaranteed Bookings
For overbooking to occur it must be enabled in both campaign and when the loop template is created. This dual requirement ensures that overbooking cannot occur accidentally but is always an option.
The loop is oversold. Meaning more spots have been sold than can be played in the loop length. For example, the loop has six ten second spots and seven are sold.
Overbooking must be enabled in both campaign and when the loop template is created. Finally, sales in excess of the loop capacity must be sold. Overbooking does not factor in purchase type statuses or any other factors.
Note: Different Broadsign Ayuda customers may also have different configurations for what is included in the maybe available status.
Any bookings that have an availability type of "Not available" are prioritized in the loop if the Allow Overbooking flag of the loop template is set to false. These bookings are typically bookings of "Sold" segments. Other bookings like bookings of Non-Guaranteed-Bonus segments are not sent to the player if the loop length has been reached.
Practically, it means that:
- When the loop template has Allow overbooking set to TRUE, the Non-Guaranteed Bonus segments will play with the Sold segments irrespectively of the length of the loop.
- When the loop template has Allow overbooking set to FALSE, the Sold segments will be prioritized in the loop over the Non-Guaranteed Bonus segments. The length of the loop will be respected and the Non-Guaranteed Bonus segments may not play if the loop length is reached.
