Troubleshooting Ad Serving

If you are having difficulty configuring ad serving, please undertake the following troubleshooting procedures.

Wait for a player check-in after altering ad serving settings – Ad server content will not appear until the next player check in at a minimum. Of course, even once that occurs content depends upon what programmatic content is available from the ad server.

A player is not showing ad server content despite ad serving being configured in the loop template – Ensure that the correct loop template is being used. (For example, it may be that some faces are using the player’s default loop template and ad serving has not been enabled on that loop.)

Players are not obtaining content – To test the player:

  1. Launch a web browser.
  2. In the address field paste in the ad server integration URL.
  3. Replace the Unit ID variable with the Face ID.
  4. Press Return.
  5. Click Refresh. Several refreshes may be required to obtain a result.

A VAST tag will be presented if the player is recognized. If not, that would mean that either the url is incorrect or that the face is inactive.

Filler is not appearing – Verify that the loop is not full. Obviously, if the loop is full then filler content will not appear. Also, verify if "Filter Designs by Aspect Ratio" for the filler bundle has been enabled. Finally, ensure that VAST tags have not been added to filler and integration for that loop has not been activated.

Review Overbooking– Ad serving content may not appear if the loop is overbooked.

Editing in Two Locations – Please ensure that you are not editing both the loop template and the integration at the same time in different browser tabs.
