Ad Serving Examples
Players keep track of loop length and the seconds left in the loop after replacing unsold time with ad serving content. This example shows two ways that a 60-second loop might be processed.
- The loop length is 60 seconds.
- 50 seconds are booked.
- It uses two five-second filler designs that are placed in the loop at generation time.
- Send ad server requests for unsold spots feature has been enabled for this loop.
Scenario A
- When the first filler is queued, the Player queries the ad server. The ad server sends a VAST tag design of eight seconds. This creative is inserted into the Player and two seconds remain.
- The Player will then try to replace the last filler spot by an ad serving content. If no ad server content is available to run for two seconds, the filler is shown.
Scenario B
- When the first filler is queued, the Player queries the ad server. In this example, a 15-second design is presented. The Player replaces the filler by this 15-second content.
- With no seconds left in the loop, there is no need for filler.
This is the same behaviour for dynamically-created ad serving spots.
