Broadsign Android Player Quick Start

Note: This feature is in Beta version.

This quick start provides a basic introduction to Broadsign Android Player. Follow these steps to add your player on your Android device.

Note: Any timestamps included in the playlists will use the timezone configured in Broadsign Control Administrator for the related Display Units. It is essential to ensure that the correct timezone is configured. If no timezone is set, the server will default to GMT+0 for the start and end date of campaigns, schedules, and opening hours under that Display Unit. Different Display Units can be set to different timezones if needed. For more information, see Timezone.

To get started with Broadsign Android Player:

  1. Configure the Broadsign Android Player in Broadsign Control Administrator.
  2. The configuration includes:

  3. Generate a REST API Token for the user that will use the REST API. See Step 5 – Generate an API Token.
  4. Tip: This token is required when installing the Broadsign Android Player application on your Android device.

  5. Schedule content (campaigns, ad copies, etc.) to your display units. For more information, see the Content and Scheduling Tutorial.
  6. Install the Broadsign Android Player application on your Android device. See Install the Broadsign Android Player Application.
  7. Register your player. See Register the Broadsign Android Player.
