About Min/Max Boundaries
When using Average Share of Voice types of buys, you set a percentage to reach. You can apply a minimum and maximum boundary for all Average Share of Voice types of buy on your domain in the domain settings (see Min/Max Boundaries).
Note: The Min/Max Boundaries part of the Digital Inventory section only appears to users assigned the Admin role. See User Privileges by Role.
Min/Max Boundaries
When applying a Min, Max, or both Boundaries values, they ensure consistent pacing in the delivery of the Average Share of Voice types of proposal items (Broadsign Control campaign). This can avoid, for instance, that the user-defined Share of Voice value is all delivered at the beginning of the campaign, instead of being spread out more evenly.
Let's say, for instance, that you are using a Daily Average Per Screen Share of Voice of 40%. If you apply a Min boundary of -10 points and a Max boundary of +10 points, this means that your proposal may reach between 30% and 50% Share of Voice.
The resulting average SoV cannot be under 0% and over 100%. If you have set a SoV of 5% and a Min boundary of -10 points, for instance, the result will be 0% and not -5%.
The boundaries will be applied at the time of availability check, holding, booking, reallocation and rebalancing.
Note: The Maximum saturation setting at the domain level (defined in Default Parameters) will be the absolute max boundary. The Maximum saturation will override the Max boundary if the Maximum saturation is lower than the Max boundary.
Let's say that you have set the following boundaries in the domain settings:
-
Min boundary of -15 points
-
Max boundary of +10 points
The behavior differs according to the Share of Voice type used, as described in each Average SoV type of buy section of the Share of Voice Types of Buy page.
The following table offers an example:
SoV Type | SoV Value (%) | Description | Resulting Value (%) |
Daily average SoV per screen | 20 | The Min boundary on the proposal item applies at all times (absolute min). | 5 |
The Max boundary on the proposal item applies at all times (absolute max). | 30
Daily average SoV | 30 | The Min boundary on the proposal item can vary (some hours can be zero saturation), but the overall daily value will be according to the boundary set. | 15 |
The Max boundary on the proposal item applies at all times (absolute max) and is equal to the Maximum saturation setting. | 40
Campaign average SoV | 40 | The Min boundary can vary (some hours can be zero saturation), but the overall Campaign value will be according to the boundary set. | 25 |
The Max boundary applies at all times (absolute max) and is equal to the Maximum saturation setting. | 50 |
