Gap Filling
The Gap Filling feature is a static visual charting tool that lets you move Bookings from one Segment to another, in an easy drag-and-drop manner.
Search filters are an important part of the Gap Filling feature. They can be used to narrow down the list of Faces, and therefore, the list of Campaigns that you will see in the visual timeline.
The list of search filters is extensive; use them to search for specific Faces or grouping of Faces. Search filters are cumulative.
The As at Date search filter has a double purpose:
- It gives an inventory status at that point in time.
- It serves as the starting date of the visual timeline in the Gap Filling tool.
Most search filters allow you to Target or Avoid a specific value. Use that to narrow down the pool of Faces to manage in the visual tool.
The Faces that you select in the result list are the Faces that you can move from one Campaign to another by clicking the Chart selected faces icon.
This opens the Gap Filling tool.
The Gap Filling visual tool contains the following:
You can use the Gap Filling tool to customize your view and have a clearer understanding of the Campaigns that need to be booked or are already partially booked.
Campaign Segments List
The Segments list contain the segments associated with the Faces that you have selected. The Segments that will be shown are filtered as per the Media Group or Media Types of the Faces that you have selected. If Segments do not have Media Types assigned, they are still shown in the Segments list.
The columns in the Segments list can be sorted in ascending or descending order.
Segments List Tools
The Segments list offers the following tools:

Face List
The Face list shows all Faces that you have selected. The Timeline view for each Face shows to which Campaigns they are booked and for which date range.
When hovering over a Face, a window is displayed with some Face details, including the Face PhotoSheet picture if it has been uploaded. If no PhotoSheet picture has been uploaded for the Face, a black square is displayed.
Timeline View (Booking Types)
The Timeline view displays the Booking for each Face. There are several Booking Types available.
- You can change the Booking Types, for each specific Booking, by clicking the gear icon at the end of each Booking. A window with the Booking Types available is displayed.
- Click the Booking Type that you want to assign to the Booking.
- By hovering over the Booking itself, you can view the details of the Campaign.
Booking Types are set for Faces that belong to a segment. The Booking Types use the following color codes:
Color | Description |
Green | Identifies pre-emptable and filler bookings. Those bookings can be deleted and replaced at any time. |
Grey | Identifies bookings that were voided. Voided bookings are still visible for historical purposes. Those bookings can be deleted at any time. |
Yellow | Identifies moveable bookings. Those bookings can be deleted and changed at any time. |
Red | Identifies bookings that are fixed. Those bookings cannot be moved from the Face, they can only be deleted. |
The Gap Filling tool allows you to efficiently book Faces to a Segment. Select a Segment in the Segments list, then drag it in the Timeline view to the Face that you have chosen. This action will effectively book the Face for your Segment. You can always delete the Booking by clicking the icon.
You must repeat the process for every Face selected in the Timeline view.
Once you have made a change, you can save or discard them at any time during your session by using the following icons in the top-right corner:
- Save
- Discard
When a Segment is dragged to a Face, the Booking will appear. You can change the Booking Type as describe in Timeline View (Booking Types).
You can also change the Start Date and End Date of the Booking by clicking on it. Two little squares will appear at each end; use them to change the Start or End Date.
The Segments that are managed through the Gap Filling feature will automatically change the Campaign booking information. All changes will be reflected in the Campaigns themselves, at the Segment level.
