Preemptible Campaigns
This page describes how to book a campaign as preemptible.
Preemptible campaigns are campaigns that are treated as relatively low priority, which should be delivered when higher-priority campaigns are not already scheduled to play. Whether the preemptible campaign is used to reach a frequency goal or as bonus air time, once submitted, Broadsign Control will automatically calculate whether the preemptible campaigns can play according to availability, removing the unnecessary hassle of manually figuring out when and where to schedule a preemptible campaign.
When a player’s loop is not completely full with normal campaigns, it will fill it up as much as it can using preemptible campaigns. Lower priorities are filled first, until all preemptible campaigns are exhausted or the loop duration has been met. If the loop is still not full, then filler content will be used to fill the loop. Broadsign Control Player must use the “Preemption transformation” on the loop policy in order to achieve this effect. It is enabled by default.
Note: Unsold Broadsign Reach slots will be replaced with a preemptible campaign of the same duration as the Broadsign Reach ad copy slot.
If the generated playlist is longer than the duration specified on the loop policy, preemptible campaigns will be skipped according to their priority.
Note: Repetition counts of preemptible campaigns cannot be predicted.
This step describes how to book one campaign as preemptible.
To book a preemptible campaign:
-
Add a campaign. Pay special attention to the following pages in the Add Campaign Wizard:
- Welcome – Name the campaign "Preemptible".
- Ad Copy Selection – Select the ad copy to assign it to the campaign.
