Why Play Shortfalls Occur

Because of the many business rules in operation at once, play shortfalls may occur for multiple reasons.

  • Dynamically generated content may not have been available.
  • A video spot ad in the loop may have been longer and Play to End was enabled for this design. This resulted in fewer loops.
  • A media bundle may require a previous booking line as its play trigger.
  • Another ad may have requested full-screen plays and this temporarily reduced the availability of zones that normally run on this face.
  • Restrictions may result in some content not playing on some faces.
  • A bundle may be set to a higher priority, thus crowding out out lower priority content.
  • Saturation for some content may be set higher for some content, and lower for others.

Shortfalls can also be accounted for in the invoicing phase after the campaign has closed. This is handled in the Broadsign Ayuda Finance module used by your accounting team.
