Broadsign Control for System on Chip Quick Start

This quick start provides a basic introduction to Broadsign Control for System on Chip. By following these steps, you will be able to add the "player" that represents your own player on the SoC device that you are using.

Note: Any timestamps included in the playlists will use the timezone configured in Broadsign Control Administrator for the related Display Units. It is essential to ensure that the correct timezone is configured. If no timezone is set, the server will default to GMT+0 for the start and end date of campaigns, schedules, and opening hours under that Display Unit. Different Display Units can be set to different timezones if needed. For more information, see Timezone.

Note: It is recommended to set up a daily reboot of your devices to avoid memory leaks. See Daily Devices Reboot.

To get started with Broadsign Control for System on Chip:

  1. Add a player registration using a custom id in your display units. See Add a Player in Broadsign Control.
  2. Create an API user for Broadsign Control for System on Chip in Broadsign Control Administrator and generate a REST API Token for it. See Add a Broadsign Control for System on Chip User in Broadsign Control.
  3. Tip: This token is required when installing the Broadsign Control for System on Chip applet on your device.

  4. Schedule content (campaigns, ad copies, etc.) to your display units. See Add Campaigns for Broadsign Control for System on Chip.
  5. Install the Broadsign Control for System on Chip applet on your device. See Install the Broadsign Control for System on Chip Applet.
  6. Warning: Perform this step in-house before shipping your device to its installation location, if applicable, because you need physical access to it.
