It is possible to optimize the booking process by controlling user permissions for campaign holds. You can prevent sales users from automatically reserving available inventory without an approval. To do so, enable the Campaign Hold Approval feature, so that inventory is only reserved when the right requirements are met.

Note: While a Hold significantly increases your chances of securing inventory, it is not a permanent lock. In reality, a final Availability Check is performed at the time of booking to ensure that the campaign can be fully delivered based on the most current network data. Note: Guaranteed Campaigns settings are available only to users assigned the Admin or Direct Sales Admin role. For more information, see User Permissions.

The Campaign Hold Approval is based on your privileges.

You can define whether a user needs approval to submit campaign holds. By default, the Admin role does not need approval for their holds. All other roles need approval to submit holds.

When the Campaign Hold Approval feature is enabled, your Direct Sales users will not have the permission to reserve inventory without approval. Their hold requests will be sent for approval. The user with the hold/renew request approval privilege will need to approve or reject the hold requests before the inventory is reserved. By default, the right to approve or reject campaign hold requests is attributed to users with the Admin role.

You can define a role for your users in the User Management module. For more information, see User Management.

It is also possible to assign the privilege to hold campaigns without approval request to other roles. To do so, contact Broadsign Services to request that the privilege be assigned to another role.

You can enable the Campaign Hold Approval feature in the Settings (see Enforce the submission of requests for holding inventory).

To enable the Campaign Hold Approval:

  1. Access the Settings page.
  2. In the Guaranteed tab, click General.
  3. Check the Enforce the submission of requests for holding inventory box.

Now that you have enabled the Campaign Hold Approval feature, the user with the hold/renew request approval privilege will need to approve or reject campaign hold requests and campaign hold renew requests that are made by other users.
