Introducing Design Variants

This feature is often used with Sync Groups to swap out a single design for one face even though these faces are being administered by the same loop.

Booking Lines instead of Bundles

By and large, the best practice for digital schedulers is to use booking lines to organize divergent content instead of bundles.

The value of bundles is that restrictions and other business rules can be applied to their contents. However, if one face needs to play one file, and another face must play a variant of the same file, the best practice is to give each design a separate booking line.

Why?

Only one bundle can be scheduled at a time and, of course, the contents in that bundle will be selected dynamically. Booking lines allow digital schedulers to associate one design with a period rather than a bundle, which typically contains more than one design.

Put another way, booking lines are used to manage divergent designs within campaigns.

Design Variations and Sync Groups

Obviously, if Design Variations are used in conjunction with sync groups, all the faces must have the same number of designs/spots lasting the same period of time otherwise the displays will not function in step.
