Placement name is required field

If you try to create a placement without entering a name, you will see the error “Placement Name is a required field”.

Duplicate placement name is not allowed

If you enter a placement name that already exists for the organization, the system displays the "Placement name already exists." error message. To proceed, change the placement name and resubmit your entry.

Format mismatches cause the majority of rejected uploads. Review your data for the following common issues:

• If entries contain commas or double quotes, refer to the Placement targeting notes for formatting instructions.
• If entries contain extra line breaks or carriage returns, remove them and resubmit the upload.
• If you copied and pasted multi-line entries from Microsoft Excel, the spreadsheet program often wraps the cell contents in double quotes. This wrapping causes the system to read multiple entries as a single entry. To fix this, paste the Excel output into a plain text editor, remove the extra quotes manually or use the Search and Replace function, and then paste the corrected text into the Bulk Upload screen.

The system filters deals based on placement activity, which it determines using the placement duration and the current time. The following scenarios explain how this filtering logic affects incoming ad requests:

• When an active placement receives an ad request containing publisher-generated deals, the system includes those deals in the outgoing bid request.
• When a placement is inactive but has associated deals, the system filters out the associated deals based on the placement's expired duration. However, the system still includes publisher-generated deals based on the venue and auction in the bid request.
• When a placement is inactive, has associated deals, and receives additional deals via the ad request payload or query parameter, the system filters out the associated deals. In this scenario, the system only includes the deals passed directly within the ad request payload or query parameter in the bid request.

The system applies an AND operator between different targeting criteria, which requires a match across geo AND venue_categories AND keywords AND networks. Within the geo targeting, the system requires a match for the (country AND (region OR dma OR zip code)). The following scenarios demonstrate how the system combines these different targeting criteria:
